24   And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man withhim until the breaking of
        the day.
25   And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touchedthe hollow of his
thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestledwith him.
26   And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said,I will not let thee go,
        except thou bless me.
27   And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28   And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, butIsrael: for as a prince
hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29   And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thyname. And he said,
Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30   And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I haveseen God face to face,
        and my life is preserved.

    Romans9:1-5

1   I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience alsobearing me witness in the
        Holy Ghost,
2   That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3   For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ formy brethren, my kinsmen
        according to the flesh:
4   Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, andthe glory, and the
        covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
5   Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the fleshChrist came, who is
over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

    Psalm17:1-7, 15

1   Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear untomy prayer, that goeth
        not out of feigned lips.
2   Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyesbehold the things
        that are equal.
3   Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in thenight; thou hast tried me,
and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
4   Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I havekept me from the
        paths of the destroyer.
5   Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.
6   I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: inclinethine ear unto me,
        and hear my speech.
7   Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest bythy right hand them
which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
15   As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shallbe satisfied, when I
        awake, with thy likeness.
